Rickards was referring to an alarming operation that has recently come to light where hackers successfully planted a malware virus inside the NASDAQ's central servers to spy on its infrastructure and steal data.
"Even though this bomb was never detonated, it shows you how vulnerable we are. It could've taken down the NASDAQ for a week, but the panic that would've ensued could've caused trillions of dollars of wealth to be eradicated, he explained."
